Annette is a recent addition to the team at the Wickaninnish Inn, but she brings a wealth of experience to her new role as Restaurant Manager of The Pointe Restaurant.

With over 30 years in the restaurant industry, Annette has incredible knowledge and passion for hospitality and professionalism. She has previously held positions at Diva at the Met, C Restaurant and Bacchus Restaurant at Wedgewood Hotel (a Relais & Châteaux, like the Wickaninnish Inn). After opening her own business as a restaurant consultant in 2004, Annette focussed on refining front of house operations, assisting businesses such as Bistro Wagon Rouge, Bon Vivant Catering and Hy’s Steakhouse Toronto.

Annette’s experience goes beyond running a restaurant; she was an instructor at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts and is a member and past president of the prestigious invitational women’s organization, Les Dames d’Escoffier, BC Chapter, where she works with “women leaders in food, beverage and hospitality whose mission is education, scholarship and philanthropy.”

In 2000, Annette was awarded the “Vancouver Magazine Premier Crew Outstanding Service” designation, an award her Pointe Restaurant colleague, Ike Seaman, also earned in 2013. Together Ike, the Wickaninnish Inn Food and Beverage Director and Sommelier, and Annette oversee the front of house operations at The Pointe Restaurant, leading the team to deliver impeccable experiences for each and every guest.

Annette started working with us at the beginning of December, right in time for our busy holiday season! “Tofino was like a Christmas present to myself when I arrive: endless beaches, a brewery, distillery, bakery and charcuterie and cheese store and friendly people who, I hope will one day become friends,” she says.

She has since been able to smoothly acquaint herself during the quieter time of our annual January closure (for renovations and maintenance), and likely explored and enjoyed some of those beaches and venues we are so lucky to have around our community.

We look forward to continuing to provide exceptional fine dining experiences on the west coast with Annette’s wonderful guidance.
