Rainforest Sleepover | The Wickaninnish Inn
If only every breath of fresh air would feel like the ones on the beach in front of the Wickaninnish Inn. Honestly one of my favorite hide aways in the world. There is nothing like the beaches in the Pacific North West, if anyone ever asks me where is the one place you would go to disappear my answer is always almost Tofino. I got to stay at the Wick Inn not to long ago, we planned for it to be a storm watching experience but snagged which was I think the only perfectly sunny few days this winter on the island. It still made for a refreshing stay, dont be fooled by the sun rays it was chilly! But the winter there is just as exciting as the summer as the hotel is perfectly set up to watch big storms roll in over the coast with high waves and rain, so much drama to watch right from inside your luxuriously cozy suite by the beach. It is perfectly equipped with a fireplace, a bath tub that overlooks the beach and a glass shower that does the same. Take a yoga class in their perfectly zen room hidden just above the ancient cedars spa, located so you can practically feel the energy of the ocean seeping in. We honestly never even left the area for our entire stay. Dining at The Wick is an experience in itself as well, the Pointe Restaurant has the most incredible views of the ocean but also, the most delicious local fresh food and such creatively inspired dishes. It all fits into this relaxing PNW rainforest experience. The beach and cove called, North Chesterman out front of the hotel makes for endless ocean views. One of my favorite experiences was our bike ride down the beach to the other side of the cove. Its so invigorating to cruise right next to the crashing waves, of course, it also made for one of my favorite pictures. Do not forget your surf board if you have one, it could not be easier to head out of your warm and cozy room and straight into playing in the waves, well besides conquering the cold but hey, coming back to a hot shower in your own beach front suite will be even more rewarding after paddling it out in the waves.
