While sustainability is often considered through the environmental lens, at the Inn, we strive to embrace a broader perspective that encompasses the social and economic impact. This begins with creating a healthy and safe workspace where team members can thrive daily and long-term. We encourage our employees to embrace a healthy lifestyle and enjoy this incredible place we live in. We also believe that having an engaged workforce means our team feel empowered to come to us with suggestions or concerns - and the more changes we make, the more ideas they bring forward.

We are proud to be a part of the COR (Certificate of Recognition) program through go2HR. This program recognizes employers who go above and beyond the legal requirements of the Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health & Safety Regulation by elevating their health and safety practices. Some examples of our initiatives include incentivizing a non-smoking lifestyle, encouraging biking to work and maintaining a healthy lifestyle outside of work hours.

Earlier this year, we achieved the coveted Biosphere Sustainable Certification. This program validates our efforts based on the indicators, criteria, objectives, and sustainability goals of the United Nations in the framework of the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are thrilled to have received recognition for outstanding contributions to a number of the key goals within the Society and Culture and Governance and Economy categories.

The first of these is 'Quality Education,' where our commitment is unwavering. Understanding that all learning is a catalyst for significant change, we prioritize the development of our team through inclusive and quality training. This includes actively engaging in collaborative educational projects with other entities, as well as a dedication to furthering the technical skills of our team members to encourage upward career trajectories.

'Partnership for the Goals,' the last of the 17 SDGs, acknowledges the necessity of building alliances for sustainability. Within this key indicator, we have been recognized for our efforts in creating partnerships and collaborations in favour of sustainable development and sharing our good practices and experiences with other entities so they may further their own sustainability initiatives.

With this broader approach to sustainability, we hope to keep building and contributing to a workplace and community where everyone can thrive. To learn more about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and what they entail, explore our Biosphere Sustainability Plan.
