 Charles' Note

The busy summer season may be winding down, but there is still an abundance of beautiful days to bask in here on Chesterman Beach. While we enjoy a slower pace and continued good weather, we are also looking forward to the storms this winter will bring.

There is truly nothing better than watching a mighty storm roll in off the Pacific from the comfort of your cozy and well appointed guest room at the Inn, or from the Pointe Restaurant with its 290 degree view of the open Pacific. Storm watching is best enjoyed with a drink in hand, and in this issue we introduce you to a favourite local beverage company – the Tofino Brewing Company. The brewery combines great brews and a sustainable outlook, and has been a great addition both to our Pointe Restaurant and On the Rocks Lounge menus and to this community of entrepreneurs.

As the swells build up before the storms, we are looking forward to the 3rd annual Queen of the Peak women's surfing contest October 15-16th. The Inn has supported this grassroots competition as a sponsor since its very beginning, and this year will be no exception. There is a significant number of talented female surfers in Tofino, and the ratio of women to men in the lineup here is astounding - unlike anywhere else. In addition to sponsoring the event, the Inn's massage practitioners attend for both days of competition to provide their services beachside to competitors. This is a great opportunity to catch some local surfing talent at a fun event open to all.

All the best,

Tofino Brewing Company

Tofino's microbrewery was hotly anticipated when it opened its doors in April of 2011, and the traffic at the Industrial Rd. location doesn't seem to have stopped since.
The Inn's Pointe Restaurant features the Tuff Session Ale – a medium-bodied pale ale made with Pacific Northwest hops by the pint and half-pint. The Hoppin' Cretin IPA and the Reign in Blonde are other year-round offerings.
