… and just like that, spring slides into summer.

Perhaps our heads were down attending to renovations these past few months, but it does seem like winter passed by exceptionally fast this year.

Speaking of our winter work—we have completed the updates to the On the Rocks Bar and Shoreline Terrace, right in time for the warmer months! The new additions include the Henry Nolla dining table, a beautiful communal table in our lounge. It can host up to 14 people, and is perfect for small parties or opportunities to meet fellow guests and locals alike. The terrace, sitting above Chesterman Beach, is sure to be a popular location for enjoying a cocktail while serenaded by the incredible west coast surf.

While the drive over Sutton Pass is always scenic, there’s nothing quite like arriving with an aerial view of Long Beach and the emerald forests lining the waters of Clayoquot Sound. If you’re flying in to visit this summer, Harbour Air has added seasonal daily flights from Vancouver to Tofino and Pacific Coastal Airlines offers a Vancouver service year-round, as well as summer flights from Victoria. Considering the road was paved less than 50 years ago, this kind of access is beyond anything we could have dreamed up in the past!

Lastly, our long-awaited Wickaninnish Cookbook hit the shelves on May 29th. I’ve been privy to taste and trial some of these incredible recipes by our celebrated chefs throughout the Pointe Restaurant’s history, and look forward to hearing your stories of bringing them home with you.

And now for that well-deserved drink on the Shoreline Terrace … we hope you’ll join in soon!
