April: Inn & Around the Wick
Art of casual dining: As if the tapas-style menu, beachside view and cosy fireplace weren’t enough reason to tempt you into the Driftwood Café, now there’s an even more creative excuse for dropping by: the new Henry Nolla Gallery. Named for the beloved West Coast artist who created spectacular wood sculptures in the carving shed on Chesterman Beach, this gallery features works by local artists who evoke the spirit of the West Coast in paint, sculpture, photography and more.
While you’re here, be sure to check out the new doghouse on the café’s patio – it’s the perfect place for Fido to hang out while you order another round.
Relais & Chateaux on the go: After much anticipation, Relais & Chateaux has released its complimentary app for iPad and iPhone. It’s available in five languages and features more than 15,000 photos, 300 videos and tons of information, allowing you to explore these spectacular hotels and restaurants from wherever your travels take you.
Feast on this: May is Feast Tofino month, the third annual “stay, dine and play” festival, when local restaurants offer special three-course menus (for $29, $39 or $49), and everyone comes out to have a great time. The Wick is offering $40 a night off the price of accommodation and a spectacular menu at The Pointe, and there are great events all throughout the village. Come out and savour the best our West Coast has to offer.
