A Note From Charles October 2019

Time gets measured out in a myriad number of ways: by days and weeks, the passing of seasons or, perhaps, the celebration of birthdays! Holidays are always a nice way to portion out the year as there never seems to be too much time between them, but they all have unique qualities. Thanksgiving has a wonderful feeling of coziness, of coming inside after the long, high-energy days of summer and also being rewarded by the fruits and harvest of the season.
We have a lot to be thankful for at the Wickaninnish Inn. I’m grateful for the team, past and present, that has brought us to where we are today, and also the continued recognition of our achievements—most notably the recent award from Conde Nast Traveler as “Top Resort in Canada” (voted in by you, the readers!). Of course, the best feedback is seeing the enjoyment of our guests as they experience the west coast and then make plans for their return visit!
We are also always appreciative of the feedback we receive from our guests who visit year after year. It has been both your compliments and suggestions for change that have allowed us to continuously adapt and improve our services and amenities. We dedicate time to consider these observations and use them to encourage us towards our goals of excellence in hospitality and in our community—so, thank you for sharing!
In Tofino we are welcoming the coming of colder months (though still quite mild). After our Canadian Thanksgiving passes we will, of course, have some time before the next big holiday (that one in December!), so I hope this long weekend brings you and your loved ones some nourishing time together. Whether you’re spending it at home or getting away for a few days—may the feast be delicious, and the spirits high!
