A Note From Charles - March 2026

With the powerful rhythms of winter’s storms now behind us, spring has officially sprung here in Tofino. Much like nature this time of year, we find ourselves in a season that invites renewal. During these quieter weeks, many guests find this a favourite time to visit, when the pace softens, and there is ample time to slow down and reconnect. The natural environment of Clayoquot Sound offers countless ways to support that sense of restoration.
At our Ancient Cedars Spa, recently recognized by Spas of America as one of the Top 50 Canadian Spas for 2025, our team continues to focus on experiences designed to calm and restore. Treatments such as the Ancient Cedars Tranquillity Ritual are thoughtfully crafted to help guests settle in and leave the stresses of everyday life behind. The Hot Stone Massage, another long-time favourite, offers a comforting warmth that many appreciate after time spent exploring the coastline.

For those wishing to venture a little further afield, the surrounding natural landscape offers its own remarkable forms of rejuvenation wrapped up in adventure. For those who love hot-cold therapy, a quiet inlet nearby is home to a beautiful floating sauna, where wood-fired warmth and cool Pacific waters offer a refreshing contrast.
Further along the coast, another unique experience awaits at the geothermal pools of Hot Springs Cove. Located within Maquinna Marine Provincial Park and stewarded by the Ahousaht Nation, the springs are reached by scenic flight or boat. The journey passes between islands and remote inlets where bears, sea otters, and sometimes whales can be spotted. From there, a cedar boardwalk winds through towering forest to the naturally heated pools, sculpted into the rock over thousands of years. Time spent here tends to leave a lasting impression.

Everywhere you look, restoration can be found in even the simplest experiences on the coast. A sunset stroll along Chesterman Beach as the tide moves across the sand, salt in the air and seabirds overhead. Time spent in the lush rainforest after the rain, or watching the changing light over the Pacific. Moments like these are abundant and close at hand.
As a new season blossoms, we hope Tofino continues to offer you the opportunity to rest, recharge, and welcome the energy of spring. If a visit to the rugged Pacific coast is in your plans this year, we very much look forward to welcoming you at the Inn.
Warmly,
Charles
