Happy Hallowee'een! With the passing of Thanksgiving and now the end of October, autumn has officially settled in, but there’s always more to be grateful for, including some recent news:

We were absolutely thrilled to be named the number one resort in Canada by the Condé Nast Traveler’s 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards earlier this month. We are proud of our team's achievements, but this recognition is something special because it comes from you, our guests.

Our vision for the Wickaninnish Inn has been decades in the making and is continuously evolving with the seasons and the years. We wouldn’t be here without a team of people who care. And as we strive towards our goal—to provide the most memorable, world class experience to our guests—I’m proud to acknowledge our success is due to the fantastic work of these very dedicated people.

At the Wickaninnish Inn we are committed to listening to what’s happening out in the world or in our backyard to help us choose a path to do our work better. The choices we make also rest largely on feedback from our guests, and receiving this award shows we are going in the right direction. We love where we live and creating this haven on the west coast, where people come to work, play, feast, surf and explore, is a joy to share. We appreciate you taking time out of your busy lives to visit us at the end of the road in Tofino; we are always honoured to welcome you.

Speaking of which, remember: as winter approaches, so does storm watching season (we’ve already had a few wonderful blustery days!), and the view from the Inn overlooking Chesterman Beach is outstanding for watching the sea come to life. Of course, whether you’re at The Pointe for lunch or here for a few days, keep your eyes on the skies. The weather at this time of year becomes surprisingly variable, but it is what makes our coast so rugged and fascinating, and makes cozying up by the fireplace in the evening even more gratifying. We always suggest packing a few layers but we also always have plenty of excellent rain gear on hand to keep you dry.

Once again, thank you for making us a part of your journey. We love helping you get out into the elements to experience all our destination has to offer while making the most from your time with us.
