Happy New Year! Okay, so I’m a little late on the greeting, but we’re still in the first month of 2017, so I thought I would take my chances.
The Inn is a bustle of activity these days as we closed on January 2nd for a number of capital and maintenance projects. This year, the changes are more subtle: a new roof for the Pointe Building, enhanced Wi-Fi throughout the property, a new phone system, refinishing some furnishings and walkways, a new pastry kitchen and more. Then again, I’ve always felt the sum total of an experience is enhanced through subtle changes which are often realized only on a subconscious level. Hopefully, on your next visit you will feel that everything is “just right”!
As we round out our 20th anniversary year, I’ve been thinking a lot about our goals and resolutions over the past two decades. From the beginning, our goal was to provide a sense of place that would have you, our guests, waking up after your first night’s stay knowing you could be nowhere else than on the west coast of Vancouver Island. This goal is supported by our ongoing resolve to source local craftspeople and artisans as much as possible when furnishing rooms, working on our buildings, designing menus at The Pointe Restaurant and Driftwood Café, or developing spa treatments.
For the next 20 years (and more), this tenet holds true, though we are always looking for ways to be better today than we were yesterday and better tomorrow than we are today. It’s thanks to your feedback and suggestions that we have arrived to where we are today, so thank you, and please keep them coming!

I’m excited to re-open on February 3rd, and to continuing to provide an even better experience at the Inn. I sincerely hope we are able to welcome you to Tofino and the Inn this coming year as we resolve to have a fantastic 2017!
