Stay safe. Stay well.

***Please note due to recent announcements from our Provincial Health Officer, the Inn is temporarily closed until provincial direction allows for non-essential leisure travel to resume. We are hoping to reopen if advisories allow on March 6, 2021. For more information on our closure, please read our press release here."***

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Inn! We have worked diligently on our detailed COVID plan to implement standards that meet or exceed all industry guidelines surrounding COVID-19, with the goal of ensuring all staff, guests and our community remain safe.

We were built for this

Tofino and the Wickaninnish Inn offer an abundance of natural spaces to enjoy. The ability to move freely on Chesterman Beach and through our trails in the forest surrounding the Inn provides the assurance of fresh air in clean, open spaces. Enjoy! Breathing deeply doesn’t stop there: all air throughout our buildings comes from the external environment and is never recirculated. Inside the Inn, we have introduced new measures to allow for an exceptional experience with the assurance of safety for everyone. Alongside these services and procedures, we will continue to follow new health guidelines as they arise.

We are proud to announce that as of 2021, the Wickaninnish Inn has become a Sharecare Health Security VERIFIED™ property with Forbes Travel Guide. The comprehensive facility verification helps ensure that guests and travel planners can book with confidence at properties that have appropriate health safety procedures in place.

Always a warm greeting

Though we may not shake your hand in the current climate, please know you are greeted warmly in our hearts, and your safety is of utmost importance to us. On arrival to the property, you will be greeted by our welcome ambassador* on our driveway. As all guests and staff are asked to follow proper physical distancing measures, our ambassador may ask for your patience before directing you to continue down the driveway to ensure proper distancing is maintained in each lobby. We’re pleased to provide masks for your use. All staff members and guests are required to wear masks at all times in indoor public areas - with the exception of when seated at a table to dine - for our mutual safety. You are welcome to use your own mask or a mask provided if you prefer.

Some services are on pause

In order to maintain physical distancing, and remain compliant with government mandates, we have postponed offering the following services until such time as British Columbia enters Phase 4 of the Restart Plan:

  • Valet Parking (onsite self-parking remains complimentary)
  • Babysitting
  • Petsitting
  • Ancient Cedars Spa Steam Cave
  • Housekeeping Stayover and Turndown Services
  • Fitness Room

*Please note, our welcome ambassador will check government issued ID to confirm primary residency for everyone arriving to the premises, as well as ask a series of COVID-19 screening questions confirming you are not at risk for having COVID-19. Individuals who cannot provide ID showing their primary residence is an area sanctioned for travel by the Government of BC will be refused entry. We are not permitting guests to visit the property for the specific purpose of self-isolating or quarantine.
