Guest CommentsGuests of the Wickaninnish Inn share their experiences
Overwhelmed in the best of ways by the Inn, Chesterman Beach, the rainforest. Sometimes the view from our balcony was more than I can take in! A suitable place for romantics & a perfect place for cynics to be proven wrong.
"During our stay at the Wickaninnish Inn, we couldn't help but feel like we were part of an extended family. It was the small touches that really made a huge difference—the Christmas tree in our suite, the gift of ornaments, the stocking stuffers, the journal for guests to share their experiences, and the friendly and knowledgeable staff especially at the Pointe Restaurant."
"It's always nice to have a great meal, but when you can only have a great meal when special people are willing and happy to make a chance [for dietary reasons], then that meal becomes more than "great". It becomes an emotional experience too."
"The Wickininnish Inn is my favourite destination. When you say Rustic Elegance, that truly says it all. The setting is stunning and the hotel, service and comfort provided are exceptional. Everyone is very friendly, open and inviting. The hotel itself is beautifully clean and more importantly in harmony with the surrounding environment. Every visit is special and we come away feeling rested and extremely fortunate to have experienced "The Wick" Isn't that what a 'Get Away' is all about?"
We loved the enthusiastic staff, lovely room, sleeping with the balcony door open, and the handy location to all kinds of activities. Oh yes, and the resident bald eagles!
We appreciated the attention to detail from the escort to our room to the Hudson Bay Blanket provided. A+ for environmental sustainability – especially loved the Brita water filter instead of bottled water.
There were so much attention to detail and little extras contained in each [vegan] dish I could blather on forever. It was really lovely to have such care and talent in each course! Our waiter, Ike, was fantastic…He took extra special care of us and was always on the ball. Genuinely friendly and a pleasure to interact with.
I travel a lot, and while I am usually very happy there are very few places where I have felt so comfortable and well looked after , and where know I can go extremely happily indeed “toute seule”. I can’t think of anyplace else I have stayed where I look forward to what reading I might find in my room…It strikes me that the wonderfulness of the Wick, at least for me, is best expressed in the little things, like the absolutely perfect toast. I hope to return soon.
What a fantastic place to stay: exceeded all expectations. Weather was wet and windy, but we didn’t care. Try the Sacred Sea treatment at the Ancient Cedars Spa – can’t wait to come back!
My husband brought me here to celebrate my 40th, and it was the best choice! We enjoyed the view from the room, walks along the beach and fabulous food at the Pointe. The Ancient Cedars Spa was divine!
“The restaurant was good in accomodating for my food allergies, and we loved both the presentation and the taste of the different courses on the personalized tasting menu.”
A truly outstanding creative chef! Everything we had was a delight. He even made a special dessert for me on my birthday! WOW!
After spending a week in Tofino, B.C., last November during storm season, I must say that this is the most beautiful place I have ever been. Saw incredible storms, tons of rain, and yet it was one of the best vacations I have ever had!

The Wick's determination to stay as a simple element in its spectacular surroundings is what brings us back - time & again. Not a rock, not a tree, nor branch, nor needle is moved unless it has to be. We love the place. Please never change!

Our stay in Tofino was magical from the moment we arrived... We brought our two boys ages 7 and 10, who had such a wonderful time at the Inn. They especially loved the scavenger hunt they could do independently...a treat for the adults as well ;) ... The food was so tantalizing that our kids refused to eat off the kids' menu and instead had oysters and rabbit!
I was looking for a place that was quiet, with inspiring landscapes, active outdoor activities, passive relaxation, and good food. The Wickaninnish has all of those things and more. I was blown away by this place - both for the stunningly beautiful setting and the thought that went into every detail of my interaction with the staff and the ways in which they prepare to pamper each guest.
Having long admired the Wick Inn for years, it's a very rare thing indeed when the actual experience far exceeds the imaginary preconceptions. The enchanting elegance envelopes you as you drive into this west coast oasis and stays with you every step throughout the property. The staff are a natural extension of the physical refined charm and are attentive to your every need.
Our recent stay at Wickaninish Inn was very pleasant as usual...It's hard to resist exceptional cusine and service provided by all members of Wick Team. The Spa treatments we had were done by true professionals and executed like no others. The food is always prepared and served with such a class...the chefs must be extraordinary people [who] prepare the food with such a passion and knowledge which constantly blows our minds. I'm glad we have found this jewel very close to our home so we can enjoy their hospitality as much as we want and don't have to travel half way around the world to receive such a service.

The staff were charming and helpful. The food was incredible! Our room was beautiful, in the evening we sat at the windows with a glass of wine watching an Eagle catch fish. Chesterman Beach is a lovely location, one morning we walked for three hours. Every amenity is considered - even towels for your dogs paws when you return from a beach walk!
Combines sublime wilderness setting with outstanding, tasteful, understated, high quality rooms, service and food. Lovely craftsmanship in the building, artisan work is celebrated and there is an evident sensibility of land, ecology and local culture.Very friendly well trained highly professional staff, often young people from all over the world. I keep coming back because I am always so delighted with how much attention and thought goes into every detail.
We all experience things in life that can be "explained". However, there are some things in life that cannot be explained, but rather "felt". My stay at the Wickaninnish Inn was a "felt" experience that no words would do it justice. I indulged in every morsel of my stay there, as the peace and tranquillity was so captivating. I hope to return again, sooner than later.
Every detail charmed and surprised us with a wistful sort of delight, and the unique sincerity and elegance of the Wick amidst the wild natural beauty that surrounds it is something that resonated (and continues to resonate) long after our stay concluded. The property is stunning, the staff is charming and extremely gracious, the food at The Pointe was the sort that makes you weak in the knees. I've been lucky enough to stay at a good number of fantastic hotels and Inns over the years, but every now and then I am blown away by one that is exceptional. The Wickaninnish is such.

The location is spectacular. The property is lovely and well maintained. The rooms are divine. We chose room 312 for its fireplace, views, balcony, and comfortable 2-person soaking tub. We were not disappointed. The service throughout is excellent. The dining room is comfortable with glorious views and top-notch food and wine menu. The lounge is a few steps higher than the dining area with the same lovely views. The bar is well stocked. You get wonderful service in the spa and will love the cave-style steam room. The staff is pleasant and thoughtful and we could not have asked for more. We've stayed at numerous superior properties around the world and loved them all. But, The Wickaninnish Inn tops them all.
We, my wife and I recently stayed for a lovely weekend and celebrated a milestone birthday. Our stay was wonderful. From the service of the staff, the food and overall ambiance. We were made to feel as if we were the most important guests at the resort, that attention to detail along with the friendly staff made our weekend.
Loved the decor of the Wickaninnish Inn. I'd call it West Coast Modern. It's back to nature with earth tone colours. Very relaxing experience with a beautiful scenic view, comfortable nature walks on Chesterman Beach and Long Beach and of course the nice crisp ocean breeze...
I have been on many beautiful drives including The Cabot Trail and the one on Pacific Highway One in California but nothing beats the drive to Tofino. Last month my wife and I drove from Comox to Tofino and were rendered speechless by Nature in her raw majesty. Something incredible. If there is only one drive you do in your life, this is the one.
