Throughout May, Ilia Poichuk will be in residence as part of a live painting series in the Beach Lobby. Each Saturday from 11 AM to 3 PM, guests are invited to observe her work at the easel, engage in conversation, and explore a selection of her artwork available for purchase.

An awarded artist from West Coast Vision 2025 and a participant in last year’s Artists in Action event, Ilia has been a member of Tofino’s creative community for many years. Originally from Ontario, she has been exhibiting her work locally since 2014.

Working primarily in oils, her practice focuses on capturing the essence of the West Coast experience without literal representation. Drawing inspiration from the surrounding landscape, as well as her involvement with the Tofino Arts Council and the Tofino Contemporary Art Gallery, her work reflects a deep and evolving connection to place.
