An update from our HR Manager during COVID-19:
On January 7th, 2021 Dr. Bonnie Henry, British Columbia’s Provincial Health Officer, further extended the Province-wide travel restrictions, for non essential travel, through her updated Public Health Order which also limits social gatherings beyond your immediate household. With our vulnerability here in Tofino as a small community with limited healthcare resources, we have come to the difficult decision to temporarily close the Wickaninnish Inn and all facilities until such time as non-essential travel is again permitted.
Please note that we will continue to review resumes throughout the time that we are closed, however any available positions will not start until we re-open.

British Columbia’s Premier John Horgan and Dr. Bonnie Henry our Public Health Officer (PHO) have announced that the Province is now in Phase 3 of the BC Restart Plan, here is a link and I encourage you to view all the details www.gov.bc.ca/restartbc . Hotels and Resorts are identified in Phase 3 (June – September) of the plan.
As you will see in the plan, British Columbia is taking a careful and thoughtful approach to opening businesses, the relaxing of Provincial Orders and recommendations, and providing new operating standards for a number of industries including both the restaurant and hotel industries. We will not be “getting back to normal”, but rather opening gradually to a “new normal”.
The Wickaninnish Inn has put together a comprehensive safety plan that meets and exceeds all mandated regulations and standards, while being continually mindful of the safety of our staff who will be on “our” front lines taking care of our guests. All of our staff have underwent COVID-19 Certification and have received extensive training on new operating procedures and standards.
At this time, we are only considering candidates who are Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents or Temporary Foreign Workers who are already in Canada with valid working status.
