Getting Around
While the Wickaninnish Inn offers a wealth of experiences onsite, many guests choose to explore the vibrant town of Tofino, the scenic trails and beaches of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, and the neighbouring town of Ucluelet.
Embrace the local lifestyle by riding a bike to discover the area, or take advantage of Tofino's free summer shuttle service for easy transportation. No matter how you choose to navigate, each journey offers opportunities to connect with the beauty of the West Coast.

Plan your way
The Wickaninnish Inn is an 8km (4-mile) bike ride, shuttle, or drive from the town of Tofino. Parking in town or at the local beaches can be tricky in the summer, so it’s good to plan your mode of transportation according to the season. Two beach wheelchairs are also available to borrow at the Tofino Visitor Centre. Complete the request form, and they will reach out to confirm availability.
The Wickaninnish Inn offers complimentary bike use from dawn until dusk on a first-come, first-served basis within the District of Tofino. Bikes are available for sign-out through the Concierge or Guest Reception Team in the lobby of the Beach building. The multi-use path (ʔaayaḥwałyak tašii), or “MUP” path as locals call it, will lead you all the way into Tofino, and is a great way to see the town and enjoy the many attractions and diversions available along the way. Please note that helmets are mandatory in BC, and we have a selection of helmets and locks available for your use.
Free summer shuttle
This free hop-on, hop-off summer shuttle runs from the end of June to the beginning of September between Tofino’s village centre and Long Beach in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.
Transit
The West Coast Transit System connects residents and visitors of Tofino, Ucluelet, Long Beach, the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ community of hitaću, and the Tla-o-qui-aht communities of Esowista and Ty-histanis. For routes, maps, and schedules, please visit their website.
Car rental
As shuttle and taxi services within the Tofino area can be limited, we highly recommend renting a vehicle. Otus Rent A Car, a locally owned and operated car rental company, offers convenient delivery of rental vehicles to the Inn, Tofino Seaplane Waterdrome or Tofino-Long Beach Airport. Budget Car and Truck Rental also provides car rentals at the Tofino Airport, perfect for those wishing to explore the town and surrounding region during your stay. Budget Car and Truck Rentals arranged within Tofino must be returned to the Tofino rental location.
Electric charging stations
The Inn has five Porsche Mobile Chargers with a universal J1772 connector and two Tesla-specific chargers reserved for guests with electric vehicles.

The Coastal Rides app makes it easy to book a ride in Tofino. Download it in the App Store or Google Play, enter the location you want to go and wait for your ride. Prices vary depending on driver and destination.
