Inn & Around the Wick December 2013
Fitness room improvements:
Not everyone wants to head to the gym while they’re relaxing at the Inn, but those who do will discover some great new gear to help improve their workouts. A brand-new, top-of-the-line spin bike will have cardio fiends burning calories in no time, while those who want to work on strength training will enjoy the stack of medicine balls almost as much as the view from the fitness room.
Live music at the Driftwood Café:
Along with the crackle of cedar logs on the fire and the gentle murmur of conversation, guests can enjoy the sweet sounds of the Ucluelet Glee Club at the Driftwood Café. On December 19, from 6 to 9 p.m., this eclectic group of five- to 18-year-olds from “Ukee” will charm guests with a complimentary evening of mulled wine, good cheer and Christmas carols.
With so much to do around the Inn, we know guests don’t always want to linger over lunch. And so The Pointe restaurant has introduced a new prix fixe lunch for those who want to get in and out in a hurry, but still want to enjoy the imaginative cuisine of chefs Warren Barr and David Sider. The three-course menus feature such local fare as Tofino spot prawn and kelp broth with wild mushrooms, seared scallop and boar bacon with white beans and chanterelle mushrooms, and pumpkin mousse, all for $35. British Columbia wine pairings extra.
