ANCIENT CEDARS SPA AT WICKANINNISH INN AWARDED BEST IN CANADA
Tofino, BC – The readers of Condé Nast Traveler Magazine have once again honoured the Ancient Cedars Spa at the Wickaninnish Inn with the title of Top Resort Spa in Canada.
This marks the second year in a row the Ancient Cedars Spa has been recognized as Canada’s top destination spa as part of the Reader’s Poll of this premier luxury travel magazine. “We feel honoured to have been recognized,” said spa manager Juanette Von Staden, “and this certainly keeps us striving to offer the very best in Spa experiences to our guests.”
This desire to continuously offer the best to guests has driven the spa’s team of internationally-trained practitioners and staff to incorporate elements of the Inn’s natural West Coast surroundings into a slate of Signature Treatments. The spa’s extensive menu includes the Hishuk Ish Tswalk treatment based on the natural cleansing ceremonies of the West Coast First Nations, and the West Coast Sacred Sea, a full-body hydrotherapy revitalization.
The spa also brings guests the Treatment of the Season, designed for each particular time of year and only offered “in season”. For Summer 2012 the treatment is Beach Ready Bliss, a sea salt body polish and one-hour massage combined to leave skin glowing and one’s body reawakened.
The Ancient Cedars Spa is delighted to be recognized alongside three Fairmont properties (Banff Springs, Jasper Park Lodge and Chateau Whistler), as well as the Four Seasons Resort Whistler in the readers’ Condé Nast poll.
In addition to achieving the top Condé Nast Johansens Spa ranking in 2011 and now Condé Nast Traveler in 2012, the Ancient Cedars Spa was also voted the #1 Resort Spa Worldwide by readers of Travel + Leisure in 2008.
About the Condé Nast Poll
20121 Readers’ Choice survey results were derived from a questionnaire available to readers through a secure Web site managing the 28,876 responses. Spas were rated excellent, very good, good, fair, or poor on three criteria: Spa Facilities, Spa Staff, and Spa Treatments. Those criterion scores, representing the percentage of respondents who rated a spa excellent or very good, were averaged to determine the overall rating for the spa. A minimum number of responses was required for inclusion in these rankings.
