(Tofino, BC) Vancouver Island is hot this summer… in more ways than one. The annual readers’ poll from Travel + Leisure magazine has hit the newsstands and three of the top five properties in North American are right here on the rugged coast of British Columbia. The Wickaninnish Inn is proud to be included in this list, which also recognizes the Sooke Harbour House and the Aerie, both on Vancouver Island, at the top of the accommodation picks in North America.
The Wick has consistently rated exceptionally well in the Travel + Leisure surveys. In 2002, the Inn was rated the number one property in North America. Last year the Inn placed sixth in North America. Moving up in the standings this year, The Wickaninnish Inn was the fifth place property in North America, and the 22nd best property in the world. Another grouping in the survey is the Small Hotel category. The Wickaninnish Inn placed 13th in the world in this portion of the poll.
The Wickaninnish Inn, set in charming Tofino, BC, has always been dedicated to unsurpassed food, service and accommodations. The Inn opened in 1996 with 46 guest rooms. In 2003, the Inn expanded to 75 guestrooms and suites when opening the Wickaninnish On the Beach building. Each guestroom and suite has its own fireplace, soaker bathtub, private balcony and views of the Pacific Ocean. Also well known is the award winning cuisine of Andrew Springett in the Pointe Restaurant. The AVEDA Destination Spa, Ancient Cedars Spa, is also located at the Inn. The Wickaninnish Inn is truly a magical place, offering a wide variety of options to its guests at all times of the year.
