The Wickaninnish Inn's Ancient Cedars Spa has become even more holistic than before, fully embracing the Aveda philosophy and becoming a member of the Aveda Concept Spa family. Based on principles of Ayervedic medicine, the Aveda concept emphasizes relaxation and rejuvenation in harmony with nature. Aveda products are created using advanced technology and formulated with pure flower and plant essences that are compatible with our body and with the environment.
The Aveda philosophy is a perfect fit for the Ancient Cedars Spa. "We're surrounded by the wild beauty of the West Coast, which we have always reflected in our decor and in our products" says Kelly Rettinger, spa manager. "We put the emphasis on nurturing and professionalism, and we take into consideration the whole person before recommending a range of services to best meet the goals of each guest.
One of the spa's signature treatments is the Sacred Sea, which combines exfoliation with Dead Sea salts, a hydrating formula and custom blended oils. This is followed by a soak in a Bouvier hydrotherapy tub and concluded by a body wrap of pure plant and flower essences, during which the guest is given a reflex point massage.
The Ancient Cedars Spa and Wickaninnish Inn are on the extreme West Coast of Vancouver Island, between the Pacific Ocean and an old growth temperate rain forest. In addition to the restorative magic of the spa and the drama of surrounding nature, the inn is known for its fine service and epicurean excellence.
The Wickaninnish Inn is a Relais & Chateaux member. Reservations for the inn and spa can be made by calling toll-free 1-800-333-4604 (US & Canada); via the inn's website at www.wickinn.com with beautiful images on view; and through any Relais & Chateaux reservation office.
